Understanding Anesthesia

The Facts

The anesthesia used for our procedures is called deep sedation. The administration of this IV medication (Propofol) is given by a trained anesthesia provider. This sedation achieves a deeper state of relaxation than moderate sedation. The benefits include a shorter recovery time and less risk of nausea and vomiting. In general, it also produces a more rapid return to a normal level of alertness.
